gospel minded.

Over spring break, I got the chance to go on a mission trip to Worcester, Massachusetts with a group from the Baptist Collegiate Ministry on my campus. The beauty in trips that are mission-minded is that they provide a window to help one see what ministry in their own town, on their own campus, could look like. We worked with various colleges in the Worcester area, doing whatever was needed. We prayer-walked. We outreached by inviting students to bible studies and events put on by the christian groups and students at those schools. We attempted to encourage those living life ministering to others and sharing the gospel, and in turn became encouraged ourselves. Not only are we, as followers of Christ, called to live life in a way that glorifies God... but we are called to share the gospel as a major part of that. And not just on trips that have the label Mission Trip all over them, but our lives should constantly be in mind of our mission on earth. Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." I feel like many times people come to the conclusion that if you were a real super ninja Christ follower that you have to move to Africa as a long-term missionary. Which some people are definitely called to do, and that. is. awesome. We are all called to be "missionaries" wherever we are, reaching out to those around us. Whether that be in a "normal American job" or not. The term missionary does not necessarily represent a career, but rather a way of life.
